Setting up mobile email with your Intuit mailbox
Do you have an HMail account but want to be able to check it on your mobile phone?

It's really easy to set-up! Below are instructions for the iPhone and Droid, but if your phone allows you to add POP or IMAP mail, the settings below should also work for you.

------

iPhone Instructions

You can set up your iPhone to check your email by touching the Settings icon on the Home screen, then selecting Mail, Contacts, Calendars, and Add Account.

Select Other and fill in the fields with the following information:

• Name: (your name)
• Address: (your email address)
• Password: (the password to your mailbox)
• Description: (your choice)

After entering this information, press Save. You can now choose either IMAP or POP; instructions for both are included below.

IMAP Instructions:

Incoming

• Hostname: mail.homesteadmail.com
• User Name: (your email address)
• Password: (the password to your mailbox)

Outgoing

• Hostname: smtp.homesteadmail.com
• User Name: (your email address)
• Password: (the password to your mailbox)

After entering this information, press Save. If you get the error message Cannot Connect Using SSL, press Yes. Then, if you see a second error message, Secure Connection Failed, press Continue.

If prompted, your Incoming Server Port number is 143, and the Outgoing Server Port number can be either 25 or 587.

If you don't get a server error, you are finished configuring your IPhone to receive email. If you receive a warning that the server could not be verified, click Continue and then disable SSL using the following directions:

1. Go back into Settings and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
2. Select your new account, then scroll to the bottom and click Advanced.
3. Make sure that "use SSL" is not selected. (This disables SSL for incoming mail.)

To disable SSL for outgoing mail:

1. Go back to the account settings and click the outbound server name.
2. The primary outbound server will be displayed. Select it and make sure that "use SSL" is not selected. (This disables SSL for outbound mail.)
